Cipher 60. Jew and Gentile One Body Through the Cross (Eph 2: 4-18)
WHO? (2:4). God, being rich in mercy
WHY mercy? (2:4) For his great love wherewith he loved us,
HOW saved? (2:5) Even when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ, (by grace have ye been saved),
WHAT did He do? (2:6)? Raised us up with him, and made us to sit with him in the heavenly places, in Christ Jesus.
WHEN? (2:7) That in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.
WHERE is salvation? (2:8-9) for by grace have ye been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves. it is the gift of God; not of works, that no man should glory.
WHICH path (2:11,16,18) Wherefore remember, that once ye, the Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called Circumcision, in the flesh, made by hands; and might reconcile them both in one body unto God through the cross, for through him we both have our access in one Spirit unto the Father.
Commentary: The Apostle Paul writes that grace is received through the cross, if even Jew and Gentile as one spirit in Christ Jesus, who is the Son of God. In this cipher the reader does not have to imagine a visual image that Scripture creates. Paul tells us through the cross by grace have ye been saved, which the cross above illustrates we both have our access in one Spirit unto the Father. As our Father we are His children on earth through His daughter EVEning. This is why For his great love wherewith he loved us.
