Chapter 47. Authority Cross Over All Flesh for Eternal Life (John 17:1-4)
1. WHO? (17:1) Jesus; and lifting up his eyes to heaven, he said, Father,
2. WHY? (17:1) The hour is come; glorify thy Son, that the son may glorify thee:
3. HOW? (17:2) Even as thou (Father) gavest him authority over all flesh.
4. WHAT reason? (17:2) That to all whom thou hast given him, he should give eternal life.
5. WHEN? (17:3) And this is life eternal, that they should know thee the only true God.
6. WHERE? (17:4) I glorified thee on the earth,
7. WHICH purpose? (17:4) Having accomplished the work which thou hast given me to do.
Commentary: It is written in Jeremiah 32:27, Behold, I am YHWH, the God of all flesh, which forms the God of All Flesh Cross. (Cipher 27) Jesus announces his authority also through the cross above to connect humans (flesh) on earth to eternal life in heaven. And this is life eternal, that they should know thee (YHWH) the only true God. Likewise, it can also mean; And this is not life eternal, that they should not know thee (YHWH) the only true God.
