Cipher 45. The Last Day Cross for Eternal Life (John 6: 35-40)
1. WHO? (6:35) Jesus said unto them. I am the bread of life.
2. WHY? (6:35-36) He that cometh to me shall not hunger, and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.
3. HOW elect qualified? (6:37) All that which the Father giveth me (the elect) shall come unto me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.
4. WHAT purpose? (6:38) I am from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.
5. WHEN elect raised up? (6:39) All which He hath given me (the elect) I should lose nothing, but should raise it up at the last day.
6. WHERE is life? (6:40) Everyone that beholdeth the Son, and believeth on him, should have eternal life.
7. WHICH way? (6:40) I will raise him up at the last day with eternal life.
Commentary: Behold the simplicity of the Last Day Cross that beholdeth the Son, and believeth on Jesus. Many times it has been said, “I have to see it to believe it.” And now you can see it above on the cross, and on other crosses in the Gospel of John that have a 4th step of eternal life including John 3:16, 4:14, 14:6, 17:2, and John 5:24 on the cross: He that heareth—my word—and believeth him that sent me—hath eternal life.
